Several Premier League managers say they would take their teams off the pitch if players were subjected to the same racist behaviour that England stars suffered in Montenegro on Monday.Raheem Sterling, Danny Rose and Callum Hudson-Odoi were subjected to racist abuse during England’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Montenegro in Podgorica.3

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola and Cardiff boss Neil Warnock all called for stronger action during their press conferences on Friday.Klopp said: “I don’t know what to say about that really because it’s absolutely disappointing that at this moment in our world something like this is still possible, that people still do that, they use their voice for completely the wrong things.“It’s really difficult for me to hear things like that in the stadium or see it in the moment if it’s one guy or two guys or whatever. Guardiola backed calls for players to walk off the pitch

Man City winger Sterling responded to monkey chants from the Montenegro fans by pulling his ears out when he scored England’s fifth goal during the 5-1 victory, and Guardiola was asked whether players could walk off the pitch in protest.He replied: “We could do that. Football is a strong weapon to defend the principles of humanity.”Meanwhile, Bluebirds boss Warnock added: “It’s got to be more severe than a fine or a slap on the wrist.
